We’re always on a quest to discover and nurture bright minds ready to confront humanity's urgent challenges – and that visionary could be you.

After turning hundreds of dreams into realities, we’re opening up access to elite education by offering scholarships to join our Ivy League professors’ summer research seminars across medicine, AI, and the social sciences.

We all have personal connections to global issues, so share your story with us using #MyIndigoStory and show the world that you’re more than just a GPA.

Based on your passion for academic research and how inspiring your story is to our panel, we will be offering both need and merit-based NextGen Scholarships for full and partial tuition. Learn how to enter below.

Who Can Apply?

The NextGen Scholarship is open to high school students worldwide of all nationalities ages 14-19 with advanced English skills.

What are the prizes?

Receive one of eight prestigious scholarships for the IRIS Winter Program (December 16, 2024 - January 26, 2025), each course valued at USD 3,900—totaling an impressive USD 31,200 in educational opportunities. Each course awards one distinguished NextGen Scholar.
The Indigo Research Intensive Seasonal (IRIS) Program is an online, group-format program designed for high school students aged 14-19. Each seminar has 10 students total, and each course requires 6 hours of lecture per week, plus 10 hours of classwork per week.

By participating in the IRIS Program, you will learn learn research fundamentals in your chosen field and complete your own publishable research paper in just a few weeks!

Declare Your Interest

Fill up the form above and follow Indigo on Instagram & Tiktok to officially register your application. Then, we will send you the video requirements via email.

Tell Your Story

Post a video on your Instagram or Tiktok (1 minute minimum) about your passion and aspiration in your chosen field, focusing on your personal connection to the subject matter (video guidelines will be sent via Email). Don’t forget to inspire and connect with us using #MyIndigoStory and mention us @indigo.research, otherwise we won’t see your video!

IRIS Program Timeline

Prep Reading
Work through carefully selected introductory papers with support from a Harvard PhD Teaching Fellow during office hours.
Week 0
Subject Deep Dive
Meet your instructor and receive a crash course on your subject, reviewing readings, and discussing key terms and topics for your research.
Week 1
Research Foundations
Learn strategies for time management, note-taking, and citation. Explore research paper genres and select a research question.
Week 2
Abstract & Bibliography
Take the time to develop your abstract and annotated bibliography. Organize sources before diving into writing.
Week 3
Begin Writing!
Work on your paper’s intro and outline. Meet one-on- one with your instructor for a guided deeper dive into your research and writing.
Week 4
Workshop Drafts
Participate in writing workshops, prepare your first full draft, engage in peer reviewing exercises and incorporate feedback.
Week 5
Submit & Present
Discuss your full draft in a one-on-one meeting with the instructor, present your work to peers and deliver the final version of your paper!
