Former Associate Director of Admissions at Dartmouth

Irma Encarnación is a Former Associate Director of Admissions at both Dartmouth College and Barnard College. With fifteen years of experience in reading and making decisions on thousands of applications at some of the most competitive U.S. universities, she brings a wealth of expertise to her role. Beginning her career by guiding students through the college application process, Irma later transitioned to applying a strengths-based counseling lens to her admissions work. She is deeply passionate about creating pathways and uncovering possibilities for the next generation of learners. Throughout her career in college admissions, Irma led initiatives such as alumni engagement, multicultural recruitment, communications, event planning, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts for undergraduate students. In her most recent role as a core member of Spencer Stuart’s Education and Social Impact practice, she collaborated with organizations to identify and recruit executive leaders in education reform, nonprofit, and higher education sectors.
