Sebastian is a Lecturer in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Bristol, UK. His research is focussed on interdisciplinary problems in engineering mathematics, including machine learning, control theory, and numerical optimization. He teaches classical and modern control theory to undergraduate aerospace engineering students, and supervises multiple undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral research students each year, mostly focussing on the theory and applications of autonomous drones. He has been awarded multiple national awards for his engineering work, from organizations including the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) and The Engineer magazine.
